What Happened?
The Union Cabinet approved the NDC on 25 March. India committed to reduce emissions intensity of GDP by 47% from 2005 levels by 2035, reach 60% cumulative installed electric-power capacity from non-fossil sources and create an additional 3.5–4.0 billion tonnes of CO2-equivalent carbon sink through forest and tree cover.
